Visit Edgerton Launches New Tourism Website Promoting Events and Local Businesses

Being a small community doesn’t mean you want to make a small impact with your online presence and tourism marketing. Edgerton, Wisconsin, is a small Midwest town located between Madison, Wisconsin’s Capitol City, and the Illinois border. It’s right off a major interstate but boasts small-town charm and opportunities for big fun on nearby waterways. Visit Edgerton came to Signalfire looking for a website design that made a big impact on their prospective visitors.

First, Visit Edgerton needed a website to expand their tourism marketing efforts. They knew they needed to have an online presence to promote their local businesses, festivals and events, extensive outdoor recreation options, and their small-town that’s slowly expanding and updating without losing its charm.

“When Visit Edgerton came to us without a website, we knew coming up with a website design from scratch was going to be a process, but we got to make it clean, concise, and branded from the beginning, which is exactly what they needed,” said Signalfire Project Coordinator Chelsea Hutzenbuehler.

Visit Edgerton decided to work with Signalfire to develop their first ever website to promote event attendance, overnight stays, and local businesses with beautiful imagery, calendar functions, and visitors spending valuable time on the website. With this being Visit Edgerton’s first website, Signalfire worked with them to develop a plan for all the written and visual content, and then set timelines for gathering all that content to populate their new website.

“We worked together with the client to write and gather content to meet the deadlines Visit Edgerton wanted to hit,” Hutzenbuehler said.

Signalfire worked with Visit Edgerton to categorize their content into sections and set up priorities that fit within their tourism marketing goals, including links to their social media pages and several options for contacting the organization.

Visit Edgerton’s website is laid out in four sections to feature their local businesses and events. The clean and simple website design complements the visually stunning photos of Edgerton and its surrounding destinations.

Each of the sections – Eat, Stay, Play, Events – features local businesses and events, along with each listing’s contact information and a short description. These individual landing pages beautifully feature all the businesses, events, and attractions Edgerton has to offer.

“It was important to us and to Visit Edgerton that each of their members were able to stand out to potential visitors and customers on their own landing pages,” Hutzenbuehler said.

Signalfire worked with Edgerton to input all the content into the website, and make sure the user interface and entire website design was easy to use and visually appealing. Visit Edgerton’s website was launched, and now provides locals and tourists an online destination for all of the information they need to eat, stay, play and experience Edgerton.
