Walworth County Economic Development Alliance (WCEDA) has launched a newly redesigned website created by Delavan-based digital marketing agency, Signalfire. WCEDA is the county’s lead economic development agency that works with the state, regional and local business development organizations to create customized solutions supporting economic growth.
WCEDA was created in 2003 with the mission statement: Walworth County Economic Development Alliance is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Walworth County residents by working with public and private sector partners to advance efforts that create jobs and build private sector investment in our communities.
“The goal of the new website is to make it easier for us to post and archive valuable content,” said WCEDA Executive Director Derek D’Auria. “Our intent was to organize the new website around the key resources that businesses need to grow or locate their businesses in Walworth County: workforce, capital, resources, and site selection. It connects them to valuable resources, many of which are free, and it keeps them up-to-date on beneficial events and developments.”
Today, WCEDA continues to help businesses with growth potential, marketing ideas, workshops and resources for business owners and those looking to create and keep jobs in Walworth County.
The user-friendly website offers features and information for all types of business from entrepreneurship to non-profit with its contemporary look and flow. Start up businesses can use the site to learn about funding and loans that are available.
“WCEDA needed a dynamic website that could feature several key elements: first, showcase Walworth County as an excellent location to do business either as a start-up or as an expansion. Second, the website must share important business news impacting Walworth County and its communities,” said Signalfire President Matthew Olson. “Finally, the website needed to feature member businesses and organizations that help WCEDA accomplish their goals.”
Businesses can also sign up to become a member of WCEDA. Members receive additional benefits including training sessions and networking events. Events are found on the homepage as well as throughout the site.
There are several media platforms featured including videos from training sessions, county meetings and forums. Local and national news can be found with additional links for those looking for more information.
“WCEDA’s website is built with a variety of dynamic features that can easily be managed by their internal personnel,” Olson said. “Using a content management system (CMS), the website can be an incredible tool for WCEDA to share news, events, and member updates. Helping WCEDA promote Walworth County economic development will have a tangible impact to business of all kinds throughout the county.”
“We hope the new site will make it easier to find what businesses need and foster more frequent usage,” said D’Auria.
