Graphic Design USA Recognizes Signalfire with Awards for Logo Design and Beer Label Design
Signalfire has received two Graphic Design USA awards for creative branding and graphic design work. The awards, which are presented annually, receive over 1,200 entries each year ranging from traditional package design to interactive development and beyond. Winners are selected based on overall concept, creativity, and execution of design.
This makes 2019 Signalfire’s most award winning year with nine awards from three different organizations.

The award-winning entries included a logo design and a craft beer label.
Churchwerkes Logo and Identity
Churchwerkes is a Wisconsin-based consulting group focused on assisting church congregations in time of change or challenge. Churchwerkes continues to assist congregations in areas including leadership changes, conflict management, and planning. As a startup, they contacted Signalfire to develop their visual identity and brand package.
Signalfire conducted several meetings and brainstorming sessions with the Churchwerkes team. The final visual result was a stunning, iconic logo that possessed early Christian influences without being overly religious in design. Coordinated identity materials brought the principal logo to life. Finally, a mobile-responsive website allowed the brand to be fully realized.
Off-Kilter Brewing’s Austrinken Vienna Lager Label
South Beloit-based Off-Kilter Brewing has partnered with Signalfire on numerous design projects. When a label and packaging project for a new brew came up, Signalfire was thrilled to jump at the task.
Austrinken, German for “Drink Up”, is a Vienna lager with a blend of German and American hops which give it an expected Off-Kilter twist. Off-Kilter wanted to stay in line with the historic vibe consistent with a classic bier haus feel but still have a different twist. Signalfire designers came up with a custom-illustrated image mash up of “Rosie the Riveter” and a dirndl-clad stein server.
The finished illustration was designed into both the 12-oz glass bottle label and the cardboard six-pack packaging. The classic-look and the trademark Off-Kilter approach made the project a complete success.
